— About

Short note on who I am, what I build, and the angle I take on AI products.

I'm an Applied AI & Product Engineer- recently transitioned from a long career in Product Management.

At first it might look like a strange move. In practice, the timing feels almost suspiciously good: in times when writing code is becoming a commodity and it’s easy to ship software end-to-end, strong product sense and expertise become increasingly the real game changer for shipping what matters. And that's the muscle I've spent 20 years exercising.

My passion for engineering is nothing new: I took my first programming course when I was 12 and shipped my first program on a floppy disk. A few years ago I decided to take that passion seriously with a full-stack Software Engineering program and later an AI Engineering one.

But the deeper schooling came earlier: years spent working alongside highly skilled engineers in very technical teams, learning what solid engineering actually demands: maintainable architecture, testing, observability, scalability, and reliability.

It’s crazy how much of those learnings are coming together: with a solid AI-assisted development setup, I get to apply the skills I've honed for years (from Product, Design and Engineering), hands-on. And it’s a lot of fun!

I'm based in Berlin, available remotely. Open to roles where hands-on engineering meets product thinking.

Let’s work together

A few ways we can engage. If you have something else in mind, let’s chat.

Build new AI products

Whether it's a startup's first version or a new bet inside a larger org — turn a thesis into a product real users actually touch.

  • +End-to-end ownership: discovery → launch → iterate
  • +The right model and scaffolding for the job
  • +Reliability and observability from day one

Add AI to an existing product

You have a product and a hunch that AI could help. I'll find where LLMs create real value, build the case, and ship it reliably.

  • +Spot high-value AI use cases — and where not to use it
  • +RAG, agents, and automation grounded in real data
  • +Instrumentation so you can tell signal from hype

Product Engineering, AI-native development

Senior product judgment on every engineering decision. I talk trade-offs with an exec in the morning and ship a pipeline in the afternoon.

  • +Bridge product, design, and engineering
  • +AI-native development workflows
  • +Solid engineering practices, from architecture to CI

Fractional / freelance

A small team that needs AI features fast and hands-on, without a full-time hire.

  • +Agent design and integrations with your tools
  • +AI workflows that hold up in production
  • +Fast, pragmatic, ship-often

Skills — what I reach for

A snapshot. The bars are honest-ish and re-calibrated quarterly.

Applied AI Engineering

Learned through intensive formal training, then proven hands-on in production.

  • +AI agents & orchestration
  • +RAG, vector search, MCPs
  • +Evals & observability
  • +Prompt engineering
  • +Langchain, Langsmith, n8n
Engineering Craft

Admittedly the least seasoned muscle, but strong enough to ship reliable code with an AI-assisted setup.

  • +Python
  • +TypeScript, Node.js
  • +Vue, Next.js
  • +API design & integrations
  • +TDD, DDD
Product & Craft

Where my experience runs deepest — honed across industries, company sizes, and growth stages.

  • +0→1 product
  • +Strategy & roadmapping
  • +Stakeholder communication
  • +Experimentation & metrics
  • +Cross-functional leadership

2026 — now
Applied AI & Product Engineer @ Liv Longevity Labs
Building a production AI health assistant for a longevity startup.

Designed and shipped a LangChain tool-calling agent and health assistant, replacing a fragile no-code workflow with a production-grade, code-based system — in three weeks.

Built the AI observability layer with LangSmith for data-driven iteration, drove architecture decisions, and improved instrumentation. Personalized longevity tools on top of epigenetic biomarker data.

Stack: LangChain · LangSmith · Next.js 15 · Supabase · TypeScript.

Replaced a fragile no-code workflow with a production system in three weeks.
2025 — now
Freelance AI Engineer @ Independent
AI-powered features for small businesses that need fast, hands-on engineering.

Agent design, integration with existing tools, and AI workflow design for small businesses that need to move fast — hands-on engineering, not slideware.

Fast, hands-on AI engineering — agents, integrations, workflows.
2024 — 2025
Senior Product Manager @ HelloFresh
Modernized the delivery system behind 7M+ customers; led the group's AI localization strategy.

Led the modernization of HelloFresh Group's Delivery Management system — the data infrastructure and business logic powering customer-facing experiences for 7M+ active customers across 7 brands in 22 countries.

Owned the roadmap and prioritization, balancing high-impact delivery against stability across a long modernization arc. Drove a company-wide AI translation/localization strategy: discovery, tooling, integrations, and validation of a scalable platform across brands and countries.

7 million customers, 7 brands, 22 countries — modernized without breaking.
2019 — 2022
Senior Product Manager @ Native Instruments
Launched Maschine+ (NI's first standalone groovebox) and the new Native Access.

Owned the roadmap, development, and launch of Maschine+, NI's first standalone music-making groovebox — exceeding sales targets within three months and selling out main shops. Cracked IoT usability problems that had been launch blockers, getting a previously-cancelled project greenlit.

Led the modernized release of Native Access, NI's most-used product (650k+ users), driving UX and the technical roadmap across partner software teams.

Shipped hardware that sold out — and rescued a cancelled project to do it.
2016 — 2019
Senior Product Manager @ Pivotal Labs
Hands-on product consulting and coaching for VW, Bosch, Audi, the Dutch government, and more.

Hands-on PM consulting across startups to enterprises — Volkswagen, Audi, Bosch, the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure, ReDI School. Directed end-to-end development and coached teams on roadmapping, story mapping, prioritization, and continuous delivery.

Shipped across IoT and connected devices, APIs, auth systems, mobile apps, and internal tooling — pairing directly with engineering and UX. Back then the transformation was Agile; the shape of the work is the same as AI today.

Trade-offs with an exec in the morning, shipping with the team in the afternoon.
2013 — 2015
Head of International Content & Team Lead @ eduK
Early employee; helped scale an edtech marketplace to 9M users.

Joined as one of the first employees and helped build the processes and product thinking that scaled eduK to 9 million users and 3,200+ courses — landing it on Fast Company's Most Creative Companies in Latin America.

Built scalable market-research methods for category expansion, ran international content during LatAm expansion, and sat on the executive team.

First employees, no playbook, nine million users.

Interests

Things I do that aren't code. They all show up in the code, eventually.

i/01
Bikepacking, gravel, multi-day
A few years ago I discovered that I love to travel on a bike, for days. With friends or alone, I just love the state of flow that comes with pedaling for hours.

Music, making
Making music has always been there for me. Always just for fun, but I even toured with a band for a while, which took me all the way to Japan... Working as a PM for Maschine+ gave me the excuse to learn music production and put a few tracks out. The challenge was: a month making one track per week. You can check them out on Soundcloud. I'm currently into afro-brazilian percussion as my music practice.
